Prestige Classes
In case you haven't had a chance to read the rules about
prestige classes, here's a short synopsis and description of all the other
class-specific ones that you may not know about. Note that there are a few
prestige classes that are for NPC's only.
Prestige classes allow a character to conceptually
specialize in a particular class, gaining new abilities and benefits. These
classes are taken in the same way as normal multiclassing, but there are
prerequisites that usually preclude someone from gaining a prestige class before
5th or 6th level. Below is a consolidated list of prestige classes available
from the class-specific supplements, as well as the Dungeon Master's Guide.
Wizard/Sorcerer
- Acolyte of the Skin (NPC) - character slowly becomes a demon,
gaining demonic abilities
- Alienist - the search for ancient magic secrets pushes
the limits of sanity
- Arcane Trickster - rogue/mage
- Bladesinger - elf (or half-elf) fighter/mage
- Blood Magus (NPC) - a character becomes aware of blood; his
own and
unlucky others
- Candle Caster - imbues candles with spells
- Dragon Disciple (NPC?) - character slowly becomes part dragon,
gaining draconic abilities
- Elemental Savant - character specializes in element; fire, earth, air, water
and energy type
- Fatespinner - character gains ability to change probabilities

- Mage of the Arcane Order - member of an exclusive club,

- Mindbender - mentalist
- Pale Master (NPC) - necromancer lite
- Spellsword - fighter/mage

- Church Inquisitor (NPC) - holy police officer
- Consecrated Harrier - religious bounty hunter
- Comtemplative. - character's extreme focus on deity heightens power
- Divine Oracle - fortune teller with 'Spidey sense'
- Holy Liberator - "We're on a mission from
God"
- Hospitaler (NPC) - M*A*S*H medic with weapons
- Hunter of the Dead - hunts undead (duh)
- Knight of the Chalice - devoted to fighting demons
- Knight of the Middle Circle - security guard for
Stargazers organization
- Master of Shrouds (NPC) - tames and commands undead
- Sacred Exorcist (NPC) - spinning heads, pea-soup vomit;
just another day at work
- Sacred Fist - holy monks
- Templar (NPC) - official temple guardian / defender
- Warpriest - always preparing for war and battle; holy
strategist
Fighter/Monk
- Cavalier - prototypical knight
- Devoted Defender - character protects as professional bodyguard
- Drunken Master - character uses unorthodox style of fighting
- Duelist - nimble fighter / swashbuckler
- Fist of Hextor (NPC) - on a mission for church of
Hextor (evil deity)

sniper skills
- Exotic Weapon Master - specializes in exotic weapons
- Eye of Gruumsh (NPC) - worshipper of Gruumsh (orc
deity) gains shaman abilities
- Foe Hunter - character out to kill one specific type of
creature
- Forsaker - character does not like magic in any form,
gains resistances
- Frenzied Berserker - self-explanatory
- Geomancer - character utilizes natural magic power of
land / terrain features
- Hexer (NPC) - evil humanoid shaman with gaze attack of
various forms
- King/Queen of the Wild - character has supernatural
bond to an environment type
