Champions Campaigns - Past and Present (Part 2)
a nostalgic trip back to where it all started...

When Dan retired from his GM tour of duty, we continued to play D&D on a regular basis, but there were still a few of us who really missed the old Champions game. So in 1996, I decided to try my hand at the GM controls. It took me a few months to get everything in place, but several of the original players and few new ones began to create a new set of superheroes. I really wanted to keep the game as close to the same quality as Dan's original, and I think I succeeded in many aspects, but there were also the inevitable variations inherent in our different GMing styles. I used a good amount of the basic background and concepts from Dan's campaign world, but added a few changes of my own. I decided that this world would be akin to a "parallel universe" of Dan's, so I called this game the Terra II campaign.

This game became so popular at one point, I put my D&D campaign on the back burner and Champs became a regular weekly game. As Champions is a preparation-intensive game to plan, I eventually burned out at the GM helm and we cut back the game sessions and revived the D&D campaign. However, I still have mounds and mounds of campaign material accumulated from the years of the Terra II game. Some of it is below:
